NJMHI Staff Member Interviewed about Increasing Suicide Risk among Youth during COVID-19 Crisis
"If somebody already has depression that could be exacerbated; it further increases the risk of suicide," NJMHI Staff Member Shauna Moses said in an interview with NJ 101.5 (August 18, 2020), adding that individuals who have not previously had mental health issues could develop difficulty during the pandemic because of "the isolation, worry about developing the coronavirus, or any of their friends or family may develop it; and there could be economic issues if family members have lost any jobs."
